3 Ways To Turn Financial Confusion Into Clarity...

Why does running your business have to be confusing? Don't worry you're not alone. Many business owners and entrepreneurs start and run amazing businesses and still end up short of their dreams. Is this you?

First you must decide where you are going. So many people start a business but fail to make a clear decision of the destination they would like to arrive. If you got on a plane and the pilot said he was just flying and did not have a clear destination no one would board that plane. So it's the same in your business. Take time now or at the latest tonight and ask yourself "Where am I going and what do I want?" I've had hundreds of conversations with business owners that do not have a clear vision of what they want.... Without a vision people perish.

Secondly make sure you are in the right vehicle to get you where you want to go. This is a key step. I'm sure you've been paying attention to the new way we communicate, right? Cell phones, social media, youtube, etc...There's so many new ways we are doing things different from when I graduated college 22 years ago. Seems like a long time ago. Just earlier I asked my son a question "What is the difference between when I stood at the bus stop with my friends vs when he and his friends stand at the bus stop".... We were talking and they are snapping, texting, etc. I say this because not every business model can stay the same. Even as an accountant I've had to change. I now write blogs, do videos and run facebook ads. None of these things I saw coming 20 years ago. I thought I'd be able to run my business just on referrals. What I also see is that I have to be ready to pivot at anytime since my industry is being affected by AI. Yup artificial Intelligence! I'm now having to position myself more in sales and marketing as opposed to just accounting. What about you? So the key in this step is to decide what potential changes you may need to make to keep your business relevant. Better yet you may have to find a new business that best fits the lifestyle you want in the future.

The third key is aligning number one and two with technology. This brings us back to your financial confusion....We can now use systems to make your business run faster and easier. Technology is like an employee that never goes to sleep. Once you set it up you don't have to worry if its going to show up. Your accounting and the finances of your business can be setup to automate much of what's being done today. Instead of not having key information, waiting til the end of the year or for your accountant to get back to you, you can have what you need today. It's your business and you should know how to run it. I'm sure there's a time when you need your accountant but let's see how you can have it all automated to give you the clarity you deserve.
